Production Notes

SCRIPT

As seen on Page 3 of the 6/8/77 revision of this script, the story originally kept with the continuity estabished in "Kill Oscar" with Jaime discovering the Lynda Wilson Fembot in the OSI storage room instead of the Callahan Fembot.

Page 19 of the 6/8/77 revision contains omitted scenes 71-76. Jaime doesn't have a dime to use the casino pay phone to call Oscar, so she bangs on the side of a slot machine to make it cough up some change. This is witnessed by a drunk (to have been played by Foster Brooks) who has been trying to get a nearby machine to pay off.

CASTING & FILMING

A June 29, 1977 Universal interoffice memo lists possible actors to fill the roles in "Fembots In Las Vegas." Actresses not on this list who auditioned for the role of Tami Cross included Sally Kirkland, Liz Torres, and Dorrie Thomson.

Parts I and II of "Fembots In Las Vegas" were combined into the same shooting schedule. Page 1 of the schedule shows that the first day of filming was on July 15, 1977 at the Van Nuys Air National Guard Base.

Locations

While filming in Las Vegas, Nevada, the cast and crew stayed at the Dunes Hotel and Casino. The hotel was also used for interior and exterior scenes. The Dunes was imploded in 1993, and the Bellagio now stands at that location.

The rooftop of the Maxim Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas doubled as the roof of the Dunes for the Fembot chase & Jaime's jump to the helicopter. The hotel has since become The Westin Las Vegas. View Google Map

Trivia

No Executive Producer is credited on "Fembots In Las Vegas" Part I or Part II.

This episode was rebroadcast by NBC on June 10, 1978.

There were several issues with stunt work while filming this episode. Stuntwoman Sonny Woods was doubling Fembot Tami Cross in the theater fight scene, where she was to jump down onto breakaway tables, get up, and fight Jaime. Unfortunately, she was injured during the stunt.

While filming on the Maxim hotel rooftop, a close-up was needed of Lindsay Wagner hanging from the skid of the helicopter. Without using a safety harness, Lindsay held on to the skid and was flown above an airbag. When high winds pushed the helicopter higher and off-center, Lindsay was left hanging on for her life until she was able to safely drop.

This story was adapted into a novel and released in paperback by Mikasa Novels in Japan.
