Steve Austin returns to his hometown of Ojai, California and is reunited with his high-school sweetheart, tennis-pro Jaime Sommers. Following a tragic sky-diving accident that leaves Jaime near death, Steve persuades Oscar Goldman of the OSI to save her life by reconstructing her body with Bionic replacements.
